Dr. Thomas J. Balshi is a Board Certified Prosthodontist and the Founder of The Institute For Facial Esthetics in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. His forty year career in dental medicine includes graduate and post-graduate degrees from Temple University School of Dentistry and prosthetic implant training at both the University of Toronto and The Institute For Applied Biotechnology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Dr. Balshi is a devoted clinician, avid researcher, and seasoned academician. He has lectured internationally from the Royal Academy of Medicine in London, to world congresses in Paris, Munich, Bologna, Athens, New Delhi, and Sydney, as well as in many cities in both North and South America. Considered an expert in dental implant prosthodontics, his trademarked Teeth in a Day protocol has served patients from around the globe. He has authored numerous scientific articles published in professional journals as well as co-authored the handbook titled A Patient’s Guide To Dental Implants. He has appeared accomplishing live dental implant surgery on Good Morning America and on NBC’s The Today Show. Dr. Balshi is a Diplomate of The American Board of Prosthodontics as well as a member of numerous other professional organizations. In addition to his scientific awards, he holds a United States Army Medal of Commendation, a Freedom Foundation George Washington Medal of Honor, and has been recognized in the Congressional Record of the United States of America. He was recently appointed to the advisory board of New Beauty Magazine. Dr. Balshi received a Citation of Recognition from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, House of Representatives, and the Freedom Foundation's George Washington Honor Medal for excellence and individual achievement in the dental field. In 2004, Dr. Balshi was selected to be in the book, "The Best Dentists in America." Dr. Balshi was voted a TOP DENTIST in Philly Magazine in 2010 and received an Honorary Doctorate from
Cabrini College, Radnor, PA in May 2010. Dr. Balshi established, Pi Dental Center, one of the first dental implant treatment centers in the United States, utilizing the Brånemark System of osseointegrated implants. The center focuses on advanced clinical treatment, extensive research with osseointegrated dental implants, and private clinical training programs. Dr. Balshi lectures globally at meetings on the subject of osseointegrated dental implants, and has published landmark articles on the subject. He participates in the Temple University School of Dentistry Continuing Education Program. He has created a video to instruct implant patients on oral hygiene procedures, and has published a comprehensive cookbook entitled FROM SOUP TO NUTS, designed for patients going through implant treatment. Dr. Balshi has taught graduate and postdoctoral students from Harvard, Tufts, and many other dental schools, the protocols developed at PI for TEETH IN A DAY and TEETH IN AN HOUR. He has also appeared on numerous national television programs, explaining the value of permanent teeth supported by dental implants, and he has directed the PI Team in the production of several patient information videos, including A WHOLE NEW WORLD, and PREDICTABLE MIRACLES.

Dr. Glenn Wolfinger is a Board Certified Prosthodontist practicing at Prosthodontics Intermedica in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Dr. Wolfinger is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Osseointegration. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and completed a residency in combined Prosthodontics through the VA-Harvard Program in Boston. He is currently a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Nova Southeastern University and Co-Director of the Institute For Facial Esthetics. He is a Past-President of the Pennsylvania Prosthodontic Association, and a member of numerous other dental organizations. He has participated in critical research projects, has lectured internationally, and has had many articles published in refereed journals.

Dr. James R. Bowers graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1973, and Temple University School of Dentistry in 1977. Specializing in the restorative aspect of dentistry, Dr. Bowers maintained a private practice for almost 30 years in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. In 2006 he joined the PI Dental Center at the Institute for Facial Esthetics in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. In addition to his full time practice at Pi Dental Center, he lectures and serves as the Director of Continuing Education at The Institute. Dr. Bowers is an Associate Professor at Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in the Fixed Prosthodontic Clinic. He is a Member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a member of the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society, Philadelphia Stomatognathic Society, the Delaware Valley Academy of Osseointegration, past President of the Monroe County Dental Society, a member of the Ewing Study Club, and the past secretary of the Foundation Board at the Pocono Medical Center. He has been a recipient of the America’s Top Dentists award for the past decade, and a lifetime recipient of Who’s Who for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. Dr. Bowers received the “Top Dentists of Philadelphia” award for cosmetic dentistry as published in the February 2010 issue of Philadelphia Magazine. He lives with his wife, Diana, in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. |

Dr. Thaler is a Prosthodontist practicing at Pi Dental Center in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Dr. Thaler earned his dental degree from the Baltimore College Of Dental Surgery, University Of Maryland. He served in the United States Navy Dental Corps where he completed a GPR at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Virginia, and a Prosthodontic Residency at the Naval Dental School, Bethesda , Maryland. He has served on the faculty of the Southern Illinois University School Of Dental Medicine, Temple University School Of Dentistry, and the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine. Dr. Gary T. Morreale Dr. Gary T. Morreale is an Endodontist practicing at Pi Dental Center in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. He graduated Temple University Dental School and the State University of New York at Buffalo with a minor in Oral Medicine and Periodontics; General Practice Residency, Philadelphia Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Philadelphia. Joanne Balshi Joanne Balshi was born, raised and educated in Eastern Pennsylvania. She raised three children while teaching creative writing, free lancing in various mediums and collecting prizes for poetry. Founder of B & B Medical Marketing, she has written scores of patient education brochures and served in editorial capacity for social, religious and healthcare newsletters.  George J. Capaldi, DDS, FACD joins Prosthodontics Intermedica following 45 years of practice in prosthodontics and periodontics. He will be involved in the Center in numerous roles including consulting, research and involvement in the Institute for Facial Esthetics. Dr. Capaldi received his degree in dental surgery from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For many years, Dr. Capaldi worked as a Clinical Instructor in Fixed Prosthodontics and Director of the Graduate Program at the Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Capaldi is a Clinical Fellow of the American College of Dentists where he served as Chairman of the Philadelphia Section. As a founding member of the Joseph E. Ewing Dental Study Club, Dr. Capaldi is Past President and now serves as program chairman and treasurer. Dr. Capaldi continues to lecture in the areas of prosthodontics and periodontics. His memberships include American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society, Greater Philadelphia Dental Society, American Academy of Osseointegration, Philadelphia Society of Periodontology. In addition to being a member, Dr. Capaldi is a past president of both the Philadelphia Dental Clinic Club and the Suburban Study Club, and director of the Consortium of Dental Study Clubs. |
