What Is theThe Prosthodontics Intermedica Foundation is the charitable arm of our dental healthcare organization and represents the collective efforts of the entire PI family
to embrace the needy and to make the world a better place. Our commitment to making people smile goes far beyond our daily clinical achievements. We believe that the smile deep within one's soul needs to be nourished and fortified.
Established in 1999, the PI Foundation is a resource for the support of medical research, for aid in times of disaster, and for direct personal assistance to families who suffer misfortune. Our scope is wide and includes aid for both national endeavors and individual persons.
The mission of the PI Foundation is to positively impact the lives of the worthy needy, providing both funds and services that contribute to the quality of life.
From the beginning, the PI Foundation has taken a diverse path for its philanthropy. Our inaugural event benefited research for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). The Foundation has also contributed to pediatric cancer research via The Children's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and to the rebuilding of the neighborhood immediately adjacent to the Twin Towers in Manhattan. We have responded to the needs of local families who lost lives on September 11, 2001, providing scholarship funds and holiday gifts to homes in which the breadwinner was lost. We have delivered clothing, food, bedding and bottled water to the homeless of Philadelphia. Recently, we have contributed to rehabilitating the lives of those in the path of Hurricane Katrina.
Most significant in our profile of assistance is our effort to create esthetic and functional smiles for those with very compromised dental conditions and limited resources. Several times each year, patients who are hampered because of decayed or missing teeth are brought to our clinical facility in Fort Washington and given the gift of a bright smile. Often this is the key to new purpose and productivity in their lives. This is the best way we know to make a real difference.
Nobel Biocare, the world's leader in dental implant technology, has regularly partnered with the PI Foundation to provide these smiles.
While we are very proud of the many lives we have touched through the PI Foundation, we have many unanswered requests in our files. There is always a willingness on the part of PI doctors and staff to treat patients whose lives we can dramatically change, but there is also always a shortfall of funds to procure dental materials, plane tickets, accommodations and meals. Donate to the Foundation
The goal of the PI Foundation is to be able to say yes to every application that has integrity. In addition, we hope to keep a reserve for emergency situations close at hand.
Periodically, the PI Foundation schedules fundraising events to replenish our coffers. Additionally, we have instituted corporate and individual memberships. Donation Options
These allow us to integrate the generous spirit of our friends with the goals and dreams of Pi Dental Center, as well as to insure that the Foundation has staying power in times of challenge.
The Prosthodontics Intermedica Foundation is a Pennsylvania Non-Profit Organization 501 (c) (3) registered and fully compliant with the State.
With the exception of professional accounting services, all administrative and management costs to maintain the PI Foundation are donated. One hundred per cent of membership donations directly benefit our charities.
The PI Foundation provided support for the ALS Foundation in 1999 and we raised money for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in December 2000. The following year it raised funds for the victims of the September 11th tragedy.
