What is TiUnite?

TiUnite is Nobel Biocare’s proprietary titanium oxide dental implant surface.

tiunite

TiUnite is a material that coats dental implants used at Pi Dental Center. It is titanium oxide rendered into an osseoconductive ceramic biomaterial through spark anodization.

TiUnite builds on the tradition of the machined implant surface, but offers improved results. Unlike implants with machined surfaces, TiUnite has clinically demonstrated the ability to increase the predictability and speed at which dental implants osseointegrate through osseoconductivity.

Clinical results have shown that TiUnite effectively reduces the healing time of dental implants.

The longest clinical data available for TiUnite implants, immediately loaded in regions of predominantly soft bone, demonstrates 97.1% clinical success rate and stable marginal bone levels, seven years after implant placement.

Nobel Biocare first introduced TiUnite to the market in 2000 on its Brånemark System implants, and then applied it to Replace System dental implants in 2001. Today, TiUnite is featured on all Nobel Biocare implants, including those with machined collars.
