PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma is used to accelerate and enhance bone growth. Platelet Rich Plasma and dental implants are used to improve the success rate of treatment.
What is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-toxic, non-immune substance that accelerates healing. It can be used in patients to improve their chance for successful osseointegration of dental implants. PRP is produced from a patient’s own blood in a process called Platelet Enrichment Activation. PRP contains densely concentrated growth factors that accelerate and enhance bone growth around titanium dental implants, as well as other areas requiring additional bone.
Platelet Enrichment Activation:
A three step process in which platelets are:
1. Separated from the other blood components
2. Biomechanically concentrated
3. Activated in order to create (PRP) Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma.
Advantages of PRP:
– Improves healing
– Speeds bone growth
– Non-toxic
– Safe and sterile
