For Three Consecutive Years Philadelphia Best Dentists Have Been Recognized. At the forty-fifth annual session of The American College of Prosthodontists in Orlando, Florida, a specialist from the greater Philadelphia area was chosen once again to receive the College’s laurels for extraordinary “collegiality, outreach and community service” in private practice.
In 2013, the College initiated this new award to give high level peer recognition to those prosthodontists who are particularly skilled and passionate about the specialty and who reach out to the community in service that is deemed exceptional and noteworthy. The country is divided into five regions for this selection and one prosthodontist is chosen from each section to receive the award.
For three consecutive years, the awardee from the Middle Atlantic States has been a Philadelphia area prosthodontist. The inaugural award for this region was presented to Dr. Thomas Balshi, founder of the Pi Dental Center in Fort Washington, a clinician, researcher, educator and philanthropist. He was followed last year by Dr. Joseph Breitman who in addition to private practice serves on the faculty of Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry. This year’s awardee was Dr. Robert Bentz, a Norristown area prosthodontist.
The recognition by the American College of Prosthodontists of these three Philadelphia area practitioners underscores the bounty of expertise in prosthodontics and in dental implant treatment available in the Philadelphia community. The City of Brotherly Love has become a dentistry destination, in which cutting edge treatment and welcoming patient care have been duly recognized.
Dr. Tom Balshi, who has been placing dental implants and building new smiles in Fort Washington for thirty years, proudly admits that his patients come from forty-nine of the fifty states. His Pi team is still searching for a smile seeker from the state of North Dakota to complete the map. Most likely, in keeping with the magic that unfolds at the Pi Dental Center, there will be more than a smile for the achievement of that goal!
Leslie Carbine says
To know Dr. Thomas Balshi is an honor and a privilege. To be one of Dr. Balshi’s foundation patients and the recipient of a beautiful new smile is to be blessed… I am honored, privileged and truly blessed.
I’d like to thank Dr. Balshi for changing my life (and the lives of so many.) There simply no words appropriate enough to describe the gratitude I have for a man who shares his brilliant talents in such a generous act of kindness.
