Pi Dental Center’s goal is to provide advanced professional dental care and a comfortable, pleasant experience for every patient. Recently, we interviewed three patients about their journey to dental health in our center. Read the patient point of view.
Daniel’s Point of View:
Daniel has been a Pi Dental Center patient since 1997. When Dan first came to Pi, he mentioned that he always had bad teeth and a lot of work was done in the past. A long time ago, another dentist mismatched the color of his new crowns to his existing teeth. So the crowns stood out and he felt self-conscious about his mouth. Dan also worried that he might have bad breath. He wasn’t happy with his smile and because of that; he didn’t take care of his teeth.
Dan’s sister helped him find Pi Dental Center. Other dentists wanted to treat his mouth in a piecemeal fashion. This seemed like a lengthy process. Another dentist wanted Dan to go to an oral surgeon and then come back to him. At Pi Dental Center, all phases of treatment are done in one location by one specialist.
Dan Finds Pi Dental Center
Eventually, Dan came to Pi Dental Center and met with Dr. Slauch. Dan found the staff very nice and sincere, and they made him feel comfortable. Dan admitted that he is a diabetic and was impressed when the doctor asked him about his A1C. No other dentists had ever questioned him about this important medical condition. Since Dan’s A1C was high, it was recommended that he bring it down before surgery could be scheduled. This was recommended because having A1C in the ideal range can help to improve healing.
Cost was a consideration. Dan contemplated the idea of travelling to Mexico for inexpensive treatment. “But you don’t have the follow-up treatment” and he wanted the best care. So he came to Pi Dental Center.
Dan had both the upper and lower dental implant placement completed at the same time, which was his preference. He said that if he’d completed only the top first, he might not have gone through with the lower implants. The remaining teeth were extracted, implants placed, and a temporary prosthesis delivered on the same day.

Dan Discusses Challenges
Speaking has been Dan’s biggest challenge. The adjustment takes time. But now Dan can eat anything he wants. He loves steak, roast beef, chicken, and even pretzels.
One day, Dan was talking to one of his brother’s friends, someone he never met before. The man told Dan that he had a nice smile. This was something he had never heard before, and it felt really good. It meant so much to him.
Dan is very happy that he chose Pi Dental Center. A few months ago, Dan went on a scooter adventure with his daughter at a local park and fell and hit his cheek and broke several teeth. He had a trade show the following week and needed to be seen immediately. Pi Dental Center saw him right away and repaired his teeth and also showed sincere concern. The staff at Pi Dental Center, “are really good people.”
Considering everything, Dan’s advice is “to take care of your teeth.”
Burnace Discusses His Experience:
In an interview, Burnace states that he is a graduating patient from Pi Dental Center. He found our website on the Internet while researching dental implants. Burnace needed total restoration for his upper and lower teeth because of periodontal problems, broken and missing teeth. He read about Dr. Wolfinger and Dr. Balshi. Burnace, a retired engineer, selected Pi Dental Center because of their track record. They were pioneers in bone grafting procedures that are used in placing dental implants that appealed to him and the background that they had in terms of an engineered product.
Burnace said, “So the process appealed to me. I came in here one day and they extracted my remaining teeth and placed implants and a temporary prosthesis.” He wore the temporary for a number of months. Today, Burnace received his final teeth. He is very pleased with it. The staff here is very professional and still friendly and warm. He was comfortable coming up here, although it is quite a distance from his home. He is very happy that he picked Pi Dental Center.

Rick Describes His Treatment:
Rick is retired and lives in Hughesville, PA. He found Pi through his dad, who is also a patient. Ten years ago, Rick had all of his top teeth extracted and a removable denture was made. He had gotten used to wearing a removable denture. Rick thought one day coming home from a denture repair, “This is what life is.” Rick’s father gave him a gift of dental implant treatment. He was scared, but excited.
Rick was quite fearful and expected “serious pain” before having the dental treatment. He had the rest of his lower teeth extracted and full implants, top and bottom. But after the treatment was completed, he realized that “It wasn’t a big deal.”
When asked about the best thing that has happened because of dental implant treatment, Rick said, “My teeth don’t flop around when I eat. I can bite into things that I couldn’t before.”
Rick says that feels good, “No more flopping around. Some days, they feel like my actual teeth. I’ve been told recently that I have a nice smile. I never heard that before.” Rick is glad that he can now throw out supplies that he doesn’t need any more, like denture adhesives and denture washing materials.
