Pi Dental Center celebrated National Prosthodontics Awareness Week (NPAW) with an Open House on April 12th. This fun and informative event was designed to thank our patients and to educate the general public about the dental specialty of Prosthodontics.
What’s a prosthodontist?
A Prosthodontist is an ADA recognized dental specialist who has advanced training and skill with the diagnosis, restoration and maintenance of oral function, patient comfort, appearance and health of the patient through restoration of natural teeth and expert replacement of missing teeth. Prosthodontists complete a rigorous advanced postdoctoral educational program in Prosthodontics accredited by the American Dental Association.
During the Open House, Dr. Glenn Wolfinger, a board certified prosthodontist, and the Pi Dental Center clinical team provided complimentary diagnostic evaluations with radiographic x-rays.
Our Open House also featured technology tours and Dental Question and Answer displays. The Q & A display answered questions about prosthodontics, highlighted the types of treatment provided by prosthodontists, outlined the advantages of dental implant treatment, stated Pi Dental Center’s dental implant success rate, provided the features of AvaDent® digital dentures, and explained the benefits of the TRIOS® digital impression system.
Attractive gift bags were given to visitors and patients. Each gift bag included a sample of Pi Dental Center’s Own Custom Coffee Blend, gift cards for dental treatment at Pi Dental Center, gift cards and coupons from local business sponsors including Weavers Way Food Coop (Ambler, Mount Airy, Chestnut Hill), Holiday Inn Express (Fort Washington, PA), Xtra One-O-One (Ambler, PA), We Fix-Phones-N-More (Horsham, PA), and a handy map/event schedule from Ambler Main Street.
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) is a national organization representing prosthodontists that promotes the highest standard of patient care, provides advanced education opportunities and professional services to its members. The ACP encourages its members to participate in National Prosthodontics Awareness Week each year.
As part of National Prosthodontics Awareness Week, prosthodontists in dental schools and private practices provided a host of other activities and reached people all over the United States. Prosthodontics Awareness Proclamations were made by city and state government organizations throughout the country serving almost 9 million people.
