Pi Dental Center is celebrating National Prosthodontics Awareness Week 2022 by creating a video that focuses on the smile as well as on a prosthodontist’s role in perfecting that smile. Click here to view our National Prosthodontics Awareness Week Video.
The Importance of a Smile
Your smile affects your self-esteem and your confidence. The face is the primary focal point of attraction, and the smile has a lot to do with that. A smile is one of the first things that people see when they meet you. That is why it is so important for prosthodontists to focus on the beauty and symmetry of the smile, the art of the smile, to give a result for patients that will be a truly esthetic outcome.
Prosthodontists Renew Smiles and Lives
Dr. Robert Slauch, “Typically, a visit to a prosthodontist means that the patient is looking for a transition to a better esthetic result. Many of our patients come in with extremely broken down, discolored teeth, and serious gum disease, and they are looking for options to improve on this. So a lot of our patients are not feeling good about their current situation.” But that’s the role of a prosthodontist, to help our patients comprehensively achieve their goals, where they are confident about their smile but they can also function and enjoy a wide variety of foods. What is a prosthodontist?
Prosthodontists are sometimes called “architects of the smile.” A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed dental school in addition to three years of advanced training and education in an ADA accredited prosthodontic graduate program. Prosthodontists specialize in treating and handling dental and facial problems that involve restoring and replacing teeth. A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, jaw disorders, and more. Prosthodontists have a unique understanding of the dynamics of a smile and the preservation of a healthy mouth.
NPAW Activities
Pi Dental Center thanks our awesome patients for their continued loyalty during National Prosthodontics Awareness Week. Each patient scheduled this week will receive a gift bag containing several items including hand-made soaps. Andrea, Pi Dental Center’s especially talented Expanded Function Dental Assistant, created hand-made soaps shaped like teeth. We included these lavender scented masterpieces in the gift bags.
