Patient Relations Coordination is a vital role at Pi Dental Center. Pat Martin, our Director of Patient Relations, is retiring this month after thirty-two years of devoted service. Amy Gambone, who is currently a Certified Dental Assistant at Pi Dental Center, will assume Pat’s role. We spoke to Pat and Amy about their experiences and goals at Pi Dental Center.
Educator, Guide, Advocate
Pi Dental Center’s Patient Coordinator is integral to the patient’s journey, acting as an advocate for patients and ensuring that they clearly understand their proposed treatment plans. The Coordinator educates the patient, explores financial options, and addresses questions and concerns. The Coordinator guides the patient from the initial visit and through their phases of treatment.
Pat
Pat was hired at Pi Dental Center as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant after responding to a newspaper advertisement. She chose Pi Dental Center because she was familiar with Dr. Balshi’s reputation and his contributions to dentistry. Later, Pat transitioned to the Front Desk, and finally to the Director of Patient Relations. Pat stated, “I like to help others. Explaining treatment recommendations begins the process of improving our patient’s dental condition.”
Working at Pi Dental Center has been rewarding for Pat. She mentioned that Dr. Balshi, Ann O’Callaghan, and Dr. Wolfinger have been her mentors. “I am thankful to have had a great team to work with throughout the years. Everyone is an expert in their own right, and I have learned a lot from each one.”
Pat’s dental knowledge and attention to detail have been a tremendous asset to the practice. She demonstrated a commitment to excellence that we depend on. Her calm demeanor and dedication to our patient family have been invaluable.
Amy
Amy is looking forward to her new role at Pi Dental Center, which includes preparing and presenting treatment plans, scheduling appointments and general anesthesia, and handling accounts receivables.
Like Pat, Amy is skilled in clinical care. She worked in a general dental office for 13 years before coming to Pi Dental Center. Amy has been an important member of the Pi Team for 9 years. During her time at Pi, Amy has had several roles, including chairside and surgical assistant, and front desk. She says, “The most important role to me is making our patients feel comfortable while getting their dental treatment.” Amy emphasizes that “being a part of the surgical team has been very rewarding; the best thing is being part of the patient’s journey in improving their smile.”
Amy hopes to continue to have the trust of our patients and to continue to make their visits comfortable and smooth. She is looking forward to this new challenge and is eager to continue to take part in advancing the field of dentistry.
Please join us in wishing Pat a wonderful retirement and welcoming Amy to her new position at Pi Dental Center.
